1. Where is Somerset Christian College?
SCC is located in Central New Jersey in Somerset County. SCC can be easily accessed from I-287, the Garden State Parkway and the New Jersey Turnpike. top

2. Who goes to SCC?
Our student body is made up of various theological traditions and ethnic, national and racial heritages. This provides an opportunity for enhanced learning because of the richness of diversity. We have students coming directly from high school and from the work place - some with college credits and degrees. Our students typically manage family, work and church/ministry responsibilities. They have full plates! You won’t find busy work at SCC – we get right to the point and provide a relevant education you can put into practice right away. top

3. Is SCC accredited and licensed?
Somerset Christian College is accredited with the Association for Biblical Higher Education (based in Orlando, Florida) and is licensed by the State of New Jersey’s Commission on Higher Education. In addition, Somerset Christian College presently has candidacy status for accreditation with the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. top

4. Are you affiliated with a denomination?
SCC is affiliated with the Pillar of Fire International, a Wesleyan based denomination. SCC affirms theological distinctives and values the contributions and perspective of other traditions and cultures within the worldwide Christian community. SCC is an evangelical, Christ-centered college. top

5. What can I do with the Associate or Bachelor in Biblical Studies degree?
SCC currently offers the Bachelor's and Associate's in Biblical Studies degree. Our program is designed to strengthen and energize your walk with God, increase your impact on society, equip you for ministry, such as missions, youth ministries, seminary, para-church organizations, and leadership roles within the church. top

6. What is the Creative Leadership Concentration?
The Creative Leadership concentration offers an opportunity for students to discover and fulfill the central purpose for their personal and professional lives, which we believe originates from a close walk with God. The student will study strategic planning, leadership, marketing and finance.

Secondarily, the CL program is designed to help students develop basic entrepreneurial ministry knowledge and skills as they prepare for careers in churches, non-profit ministries or for-profit organizations. top

7. When are classes offered and how long do they last?
Students enjoy the flexibility of classes meeting at convenient times during the day and evenings. All courses meet once a week. Those students enrolled in the Traditional Track meet for 2½ hours per session for 15 weeks. Fast Track semesters are available to students wishing to work quickly through their program meeting 3½ hours per session for 11 weeks. You can take classes in both tracks simultaneously. top

8. I already have an undergraduate / graduate degree; can I still take courses at SCC?
Yes. Students attend SCC for a variety of reasons. The Narrative Biblical Theology Certificate Program is ideal for those desiring to enhance their understanding of the Bible, but already hold an undergraduate degree. Auditing is an option if you would like to forgo syllabus requirements (still costs the same as taking for credit!). top

9. Will my credits transfer to other institutions?
Many students who have applied to other undergraduate schools have had their SCC credits accepted for transfer. For example, the following colleges have accepted credits from Somerset Christian College: Houghton College, Eastern, PBU, Asbury College, and Nyack College. Colleges accredited by AABC will accept SCC credits for transfer dependent upon program compatibility. Contact the Registrar's Office for more details. top

10. What is the admissions process?
A student is considered for admission after the applicant portfolio is complete, including the signed, completed application form, a general recommendation form, high school and/or college transcript(s), and official statement of test scores, SAT or ACT (if applicable), and the nonrefundable application fee. top

11. How much is tuition?
$300 per credit (1-11 credits per semester).

$280 per credit (12+ credits per semester).

$185 per credit (audit)

12. Do you offer financial aid?
Financial aid for Somerset Christian College students is available through federal and state grants, loans and private SCC funding. TAG, PELL Grants, Guaranteed Student Loans and GI Benefits are available to qualified students. Some of these programs are based on "Need." Need is determined by completing a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). You can apply on the Web at www.fafsa.ed.gov. top

13. How do I pay for my tuition?
All semester expenses must be paid in US currency. Students are billed for semester charges based upon their registration schedule. Students must pay their bill in full with cash, check, or credit card (MasterCard of Visa) or enroll in the installment plan by the first day of class. Students who wish to pay all or any portion of their tuition fees on an installment basis may take advantage of a plan made available through Tuition Management Systems, Inc. Under this interest free plan, tuition fees are paid in monthly installments. There is a $35.00 fee for each enrollment period. A plan brochure, which includes an application form, may be obtained from the Business Office. top

14. Where do I buy textbooks?
SCC will have the required course textbooks available for purchase in the College bookstore located in the Administration Building or through our onlince bookstore. top

15. Is there on-campus housing?
Presently we are a commuter college with no residential students. However, as of Fall 2007 the Ramada Inn Somerset has began to offer SCC students a Discounted Housing option. top

16. What is the parking situation?
Parking your car is not a problem! Parking lots are free, close to the buildings and well lit. top

17. When can I visit the campus?
The Office of Admissions is open Monday – Thursday, 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. , Friday 8 a.m-4 p.m. and by appointment after hours and Saturdays. Please call to set up an appointment. We look forward to meeting you! At least two open houses per semester are offered for the prospective student. top

18. Are onlince course avilable?
