Welcome to Somerset Christian College’s Virtual Financial Aid Office!

The following steps will begin your process of applying for federal, state and institutional student financial aid.

To receive student financial aid for the 2007-2008 academic year, SCC students should apply immediately following the application steps below.

Step 1: Complete your 2007-2008 FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)

Step 2: Register for your account on the SCC’s Virtual Financial Aid Office (VFAO)

Step 3: Complete the interview on the Virtual Financial Aid Office.

Step 1: Complete your 2007-2008 FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)

• Go to www.fafsa.gov
• Fill in the required information (You will need your previous year’s tax return, along with your parents for dependant students)
• If the student is a dependent, both the student and parent need to individually apply for a pin number (password)
• Where you are asked to enter the school code, enter SCC’s code: 036663.
• When you have entered the required information, obtain the Estimated Family Contribution (EFC) for use when doing your financial aid interview (see below).
• Sign the 2007-2008 FAFSA with your electronic PIN and click “Submit.”

Step 2: Register for your account on the SCC’s Virtual Financial Aid Office (VFAO).
You will use this password whenever you apply for student financial aid or review your financial aid. Please note this is your OWN password creation, NOT THE PIN you obtained when you completed the FAFSA. The FAFSA and the interview processes are entirely different.

Students please note: If you registered for an account in the past and entered a password, you do not have to do this again. You will use the password you already have.

Step 3: Complete the interview on the Virtual Financial Aid Office (link in left column).

• Enter your Estimated Family Contribution (EFC) obtained from the 2007-2008 FAFSA submission.
• In the “Terms of Attendance” section, select “fall and spring” if you intend on receiving aid for entire academic year.
• When you have completed your interview, enter your electronic signature (password) when prompted and click “submit interview for processing.”
• If you have applied for a student loan be sure to follow the instructions to complete and sign a Master Promissory Note (MPN).

When your application has been processed, you will receive an e-mail telling you the amount of federal and institutional aid you are eligible to receive. N.J. State aid is calculated separately from this process and may not be reflected with the initial award notification.
