Somerset County
Somerset County Somerset Christian College is located in Franklin Township, in the heart of central New Jersey. Covering 305 square miles, Somerset County blends rich agricultural land and graceful country estates with modern industrial parks and residential communities. It is an area rich in history, once serving as a crossroads and resting-place for stagecoach travelers bound for Philadelphia and canal boats traveling between the Delaware and Raritan rivers. Today, Somerset County still serves as a crossroads for travelers into and out of the New York and Philadelphia metropolitan areas.
New Jersey
New Jersey boasts some of the most interesting historical sites in the nation. Princeton Battlefield, Washington's Headquarters, Ellis Island, and the Statue of Liberty are all within easy reach of Zarephath. The New Jersey State Aquarium and Liberty Science Center, along with a host of museums, enhance life in the Garden State. There are thousands of acres of state and county forests and parks offering hiking, camping, fishing, canoeing, and other outdoor activities. There are several fine ski resorts located in the State. New Jersey has professional basketball, football, and hockey teams, which play at the Meadowlands Complex. In addition, the State is home to two Minor League baseball teams. New York City and Philadelphia
Located geographically between New York and Philadelphia, SCC students have access to some of the finest cultural and historical resources in the United States. In addition to its well-known landmarks such as Broadway and the Empire State Building, Manhattan offers a plethora of museums, historic churches, and cultural exhibits - all accessible from New Jersey via public transportation. Philadelphia contains such national treasures as Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell, as well as points of interest like the Franklin Institute and the United States Mint.
